Pain is a complex system under the plastic change control. Meaning you can rid yourself of pain by brain training! Pain is an OPINION on the organisms state of health, rather than a mere reflexive response to injury. The brain gathers evidence from many sources before triggering pain.

- Pain is 100% of the time an output of the brain. This does NOT mean that peripheral receptors and tissues are uninvolved, but it does mean that these tissues can only send DANGER signals to the brain.
- Pain is a decision or construct made by the brain based on the perception of threat.
- Because of the above, the brain should be the primary target for training in people experiencing pain and performance blocks.
- Injury does not equal pain and pain does not equal injury.
- Pain is a THREAT/ACTION signal — not an indicator of damage.
- Objective evidence of tissue “damage” does NOT mean it is the cause of the pain.
