5 dangers of staying in your comfort zone!

  1. Blocks Growth – it is normal to feel content and secured in the comfort zone. These two behaviours often cause us to close our doors to change and progress.
  2. Drives You Down to Hardship – life is constantly changing. If you aren’t, things will become more challenging for you.
  3. Leads to Boredom and Discontentment – we go into autopilot and our brain switches off from participating, learning and exploring.
  4. Triggers Negative Mindset – without a reward system of accomplishing something and challenges for the brain to solve, we have less dopamine and endorphins helpings us feel good.
  5. Increases Pain and Anxiety – if we always stay in our comfort zone, foreign experiences and concepts become threatening to our brain.

Here are a few ways to move out of your comfort zone in still a very safe space:
💪🏽 Mix up your workouts, weights, reps, tempo!
🚗 Take different routes home from places you frequent
🥦 Mix up your veggies across the week
🥰 Volunteer at a place that makes you uncomfortable
😱 Identity a fear you have and tell someone about it – allow yourself to be vulnerable.

If you want to change, you can’t stay the same! And if you want to stay the same, change is all around you, so you still have to change! 😘
